Yeah...it's dawned on me that I should probably start promoting my own Internet radio show on my own blog! Fail, to date, on my part.
Well, in any case, I'm live on-net tonight with two fantastic "conservatarian" guests, and a slate of topics that should prove of great interest. I'm calling this show "Trapped in Blue States Style" as all three of us are just that!
We're live on Vigilant Liberty Radio at 10pm Eastern (9C/8M/7P) - here's what we've got on-tap for what's going to be a great show:
From New York, I'm welcoming blogger Alex Kauffman, who writes at For the Republic! I first interacted in depth with Alex back in 2011 when Herman Cain was the GOP not-Romney flavor-of-the-month and his "999" plan was all the rage...well, except to Alex and myself!
He's posted two recent stories that we'll be discussing. First up is an interview he had with an informed source about the case of US Army Sergeant Bowe Bergdahl, who's been missing in Afghanistan since June 30, 2009. Is this missing soldier a prisoner-of-war or a deserter?
Next up is Alex's recounting of some of the history of the National Rifle Association over the past few decades, and what it says about grass-roots conservative organizations and whether or not they're actually in the political game to win for their cause, or just to raise money and power or influence.
Joining us in the discussion will be Wisconsinite Amy "Modern Comments", who previously appeared on TFH for my Burn Notice tribute show after the series ended its seven-season run this year.
We'll also be discussing the passing of former South African President Nelson Mandela and his legacy as well as the big multi-part story written by Andrea Elliott with photographs by Ruth Fremson published today by The New York Times, "Invisible Child", about a young woman named Dasani living in New York City who's trapped by poverty and a system of social welfare and services that have completely failed and abandoned thousands - many of them, like Dasani, who are children.
You can catch the stream from the right pane right here at Their Finest Hour when the show goes live (does not auto play; will have to refresh!), but better still, come and join us over at the VLR website where you can both get the stream and join in our registration-free chat room to interact with both myself and my guests!
You can also try and get the attention of us via Twitter using the hashtag #TFH
Finally, I'm debuting all-new introduction and signoff sound clips for the show tonight...they're EPIC if I do say so myself!
10pm! Talk to you then!
"[I]f we fail, then the whole world,…all that we have known and cared for…will sink into the abyss of a new Dark Age made more sinister, and perhaps more protracted, by the lights of perverted science. Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, and so bear ourselves that…men will still say, 'This was their finest hour.'”
